Clara Harris Born November 7th, 1952, to Grover and Clara Revis. Clara was the oldest of four children. She worked alongside her family in the fields, under the hot North Carolina sun, summer after summer. They picked tobacco, cotton, and peanuts. Hard work that helped make her the tough women that we all remember. That resiliency and tenacity brought from the fields helped her all throughout her life.
She attended Winston Salem State University where she graduated with a degree in Biology. During that time, she meets and falls in love with her future husband, Alonza, with whom she would go on to have three children. Clara went on to get two Master’s degrees, she volunteered for various organizations and always maintained a charitable heart.
She is survived by Norlishia, Malcom and Myron Harris. Her grandchildren, Brandon Harris, Toni Poole, Tyler Mason, Luke and Lance Harris, Micah Harris, Jaylin Martin as well as Preston Harris who will join the family in July 2023.Her siblings Linda, Milton and James remained close to her throughout her life, and their families have been a constant point of pride.
