On Monday, February 12, 2024, Kenneth Wade McCallum, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife, Deloris and Family.
He was called from our midst and granted everlasting peace and serenity.
Kenneth Wade McCallum, known as "Kenny," was born September 24, 1956, to the Late Ernest Luther McCallum 11 and Sarah R. McEarchern McCallum in Rowland, North Carolina.
His early education started in the public schools of Robeson County at Southside School. Upon his parents' relocation to Greensboro, North Carolina, he concluded his education at David D. Jones Elementary, J.C. Price Junior High and Ben L. Smith High School.
Kenny had a great work ethic, starting as a young boy, with a paper route, and selling seeds. In his teenage years he worked for K&W Cafeteria. His employment went on to include Cone Mills (Revolution Plant) and a Supervisor for Birds Roofing company until his health failed. As a young man Kenny was a talented artist who enjoyed sketching and drawing. Kenny In his leisure enjoyed watching old westerns
and was a lover of good music, be it Johnny Taylor or country.
He was preceded in death by brother Ernest L. McCallum lll; Sister-in-Love, Peggie McCallum and Nephews Jay and Isaiah McCallum.
He leaves to embrace loving memories, Wife, Deloris; Daughters, Nicole McCallum and Rachel Barr (Shawn Benjamin) of Greensboro, North Carolina; Sons; Rudy Barr of Greensboro, North Carolina and Frankie (Kendra) Keith of Columbia, South Carolina; Grandsons, Nykel McCallum and Caine Hood of Greensboro, North Carolina; Mother, Sarah R. McCallum of Greensboro, North Carolina; Siblings, Linda
McDaniels of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Betty Ann Douglas, Alphonso McCallum, Phyllis McCallum, Sarah Coble, William C. McCallum, Marchelle Siler, and Gwendolyn (Donnie) Minor, all of Greensboro, North Carolina and a host of other family including, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Special friends, Paul Jones and Jerome Waterman; Special cousin, James “Snoop” Priest.
