Herman Rose gained his wings on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Herman was born on July 18, 1943, to Winslow and Calouise Rose. “Skee Boy”, as he was often called, was the oldest of 5 children. He was preceded in death by his Father, Winslow Rose, Mother, Calouise Rose, Brother Danny Rose, and 2 grandsons, EJ Rose, and Josiah Price.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his sons Ray, of Atlanta, GA, Earl (Tara), of Dallas, TX, Tony (Erika), of Apex, NC, Carl (Lynye), of Charlotte, NC, Troy, Alex, Eric, and Winslow (Kelli), all of Greensboro, NC. He also leaves his daughters, Natoshia, Latoya (Frank), and Carrie, all of Greensboro, NC. Additionally, he leaves 3 sisters, Barbara Davis (Willie), of Richmond, VA, Ada Cooper, and Sarah Rose, of Lake City SC, and 1 brother, Jerry Rose (Sandra) of Richmond, VA. Along with 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, he leaves several nieces, and nephews, as well as other family, and friends.
Back in his high school days, Herman was arguably the best basketball player in the state of South Carolina. He eventually moved to NC, where he worked for Carolina Steel, Four Seasons Concrete, and would go on to start and run Rose Concrete Inc., until his retirement. He spent most of his free time fishing and hanging out with friends. He also was normally the life of the party, because of his dancing skills.
