Mr. Ernest Council

Mr. Ernest Council on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, an angel that has been with us for sixty-nine years has gone to be with our Heavenly Father, his spirit will live with us forever.

Ernest was born September 28, 1953, in Holly Hill SC to the late Willie Council and Catherine Smalls Council. He was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. He became a member of Shiloh AME Church in Eutawville, SC at an early age. Later in life he joined Believers Missionary Baptist Church and attended regularly until his health declined. He was employed at Oneil Steel until his retirement.

On October 17, 1978, Ernest married the love of his life, Blanche Wilson Council. And to this union two children were born. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death are five sisters, Mamie, Shirley, Lillie Ann, Gloria, and Alice; and two brothers, Willie Jr. and John.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Blanche Wilson Council; two daughters, Tanesh Lissette Council and Ernestine Davis; one son Edward (Markita) Council; four grandchildren, Tyria Council, D’Nasia Council, Elijah Council, and Evan Davis; three sisters, Catherine Little, Willie Mae (Joe Nathen) Davis, Gail Council; two brothers, Nathaniel Council and Leroy Council; brothers-in-law Nathaniel Jones and Ellick Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
