Clifford Hughes Thompson was born to Betty Jean Thompson on May 29, 1964 and departed his earthly life surrounded by family on May 18, 2023. He was a graduate of Northeast High School. Although he struggled with Sickle Cell Anemia throughout his life, he was able to further his education by attending automotive school.
Clifford, also known as “Slim or Stick” was loved by his family and friends whom he warmly greeted, “What’s goin’ on son?” Always the life of the party, he was a joy to be around. An avid fan of WWE wrestling, UNC Basketball and cars; he maintained a vast collection of Hot Wheels and model cars which proudly assembled himself.
Clifford grew up in a Christian home. At an early age he joined Locust Grove Baptist Church, and later joined Union Chapel United Church of Christ.
Clifford was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Deloris Thompson; wife, Sharon Thompson; uncle, Richard Thompson; and cousin Randall (Jack) Dunbar.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son Braxton; mother Betty; three grandchildren; a devoted friend, Dawn Marin; aunts: Louise Milton (Ervin) and Deborah Harris; cousins; close friends: Jr, Rudy, Papa, Shane, Bernie; and other relatives.
